The company is not accepting online orders anymore. The company was in trouble for a VERY long time. Too bad so many people will be out of business.

After 30 years, Smith & Hawken to close (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/07/09/BUAD18LQ5S.DTL - broken link)

They were a high-end outdoor retailer HDQ location in No. CA. They had retail stores all over the US and they also had a large customer service US based portion of their company in the East Coast. Target sold some of its goods and many hotels carry its furniture. Anways, this just means more people out of work (about 700 people across the nation).

The prophecy is fulfilled! This was foretold millenia ago. We all have a good 24 hours to live now. This is the end.
The world has had a good run and now we're through. May extraterrestrials find pieces of our planet out there in the cosmos and reconstruct a story or two of our world.
So long, everybody!

Default Well, I'M sorry to see them go

especially since I just bought two patio chairs from them online for which I won't be able to get cushions that fit. Yes, in the midst of the apocalypse daily life does go on.

Odd that they're keeping stores open, but shutting down the online sales. Usually it's the other way around.

Don't worry! Walmart has those cushions. They are made in China! (Now with more lead!) That is probably the reason S&H went out of business. Hard to compete with companies that pay $.25/hour.

I will miss S&H. I have a great teak bench from them. It is still looking good after 10 years.
