Hi,

First, I'm sorry for my poor english, it's not my mother language...

Next, in a few words, I live in Belgium, Europe. 3 year ago, I bought a 68 Mustang in California and this summer, I'll reach the end of my complete restoration...

Actually, my car is registred in Belgium as an "oldtimer" car but the major problem is that I can not go far from my home. I have to stay in a perimeter of 15 miles around my house. As you can see, it's unbelivable...

Now, after my restoration, I'd like to registrate it as a daily driver with a regular license plate but another problem comes... The Mustang does come from USA, so outside Europe and it's a pain in the ass to registrate it as a daily driver car except, if I can find a proof of his first registration in 68...

For the technical inspection office (like your DMV), if I can get a proof indicating that the first Mustang registration was before 06/15/1968 (1968, 15th June) it will be good... But, is it possible to get that?

I started last year some investigations with a friends who was in USA at this time and I got this paper from DMV:

But the above paper does'nt mention the first car registration...

Here's my title:

Can you help me? I've a Paypal account in case of you need to pay some fees...

Thanks a million from Belgium

Dylan

It is very difficult because the California Department of Motor Vehicles does not keep old information on it's computer data base and the privacy laws make it difficult for anyone other than you, the registered owner, to request a manual physical archive title search... also many cars in California of this age were not originally sold in California so there might not even be records to search.

Have you tired any of the Mustang Clubs?
