I've never heard of an RN program in California that's "easy to get into". Even the LVN programs are pretty demanding. Locally people pursue the LVN (Pay is pretty good)while waiting for a shot at RN someday. I heard College of the Redwood has a three-year waiting list. Be flexible and good luck We need nurses!

The only ones are "private schools" that will have little to no waiting list and not as many pre reqs (in general) would need to be completed. Look at www.allnurses.com be prepared to spend 50k on a 2 year private school for RN or 30 for LVN.

If you are having trouble getting into one in a community college, you will be better off trying for the LVN school, but there isn't much of a demand for LVNs anymore as more and more peole are actually getting Bacholers degrees in nursing. If you just want it as a pre-requisit that is different. Even they do have waiting lists and some pretty high standards.

^^
There is still a demand for Lvn's in CA, but they are mostly used in long term care, hospice, home health, school nurse jobs etc.

You can be an RN with an associates or bacholers degree.

Didn't know this. This is an option to my four options so far.

1) go to Cuesta nursing
2) go to Hancock nursing
3) move to an area with an easier nursing acceptance rate
4) go to a private nursing school

I am going to go for the Hancock and Cuesta nursing school. I am currently working on doing the pre-reqs for both.
