Good, but Santa Ana won't accomplish it without cleaning up their neighborhood and schools. Currently, if a company wants to move in to this area, they're drawn to places like Irvine. Fisker Automotive is an example of this, among other companies. The city draws high tech business because it has a high tech university and schools/safety that draw highly educated people.

San Diego wants it too. Everyone wants to be Cleantech Silicon Valley. But unfortunately for them, Silicon Valley will end up being Cleantech Silicon Valley. Because without educational institutions, industrial infstructure and highly educated workforce, you can't become a "silicon valley". San Diego has UCSD and educated population but no industry, and hasn't been able to make a major tech cluster happen in 20+ years. Santa Ana has none of those attributes.

Regions have wanted to be Silicon Valley for past 30yrs...and most have died trying...consider how little tech Bos (rem Rt 128?) has anymore, aside from puny EMC...and what of size has Seattle (rather Redmond) created post-MSFT of ~20yrs ago?
