Thinking of getting a light trailer, something under 5,000Lbs, and am considering a 2011 Durango with the V6, or 2011 Tahoe. I know the Tahoe has more towing capacity than the Durango, but the Durango with the V6 gets slightly better mileage than the Tahoe, costs less, plus it has built in Trailer Sway Control.

Appreciate any +/- comments; thank you

The new ultra-light campers can be towed with just about anything, including most normal cars. I transport trailers for a living and I find the only factor is the flat surface of the front of the trailers. Here's a website that might help you choose, but my guess is that either truck is more than enough. Good luck! Travel Trailer Weight Calculator

you don't need a gas guzzling vehicle to tow a lightweight trailer. Most midsized cuv's, pickups, and cars will tow one with no problem.
