Yes. I bought a piece of four inch thick memory foam for this before realizing it could not be stored in the RV. There is no room in my tiny RV.

The back of the truck? My grandson (6) slept on it this weekend, and we just put an open sleeping bag on it, then blanket and it was fine. Probably not great for two adults, but that would be unlikely in our case.

4" thick 'Memory Foam' would be VERY heavy, so should not blow out of an open truck!!!

Memory Foam can also be very compressed. (My son got a queen sized memory foam mattress into his VW Rabbit!) With room remaining for a DRIVER! (Michelin Man)

When ''underway" our 'Waffle foam' (Very light and also squishy) rolls up under the dinette table or seat.

We actually have a table and 4 chairs in place of a dinette but our sofa is also a bed with an inflatable mattress. For it we tuck in a fitted sheet as best we can so that no one sleeps on top of the mattress. For a longer sheet, have you considered a California King fitted sheet and just tucking the excess under? That might work.....
