Are dealers buying vehicles outright?

Here, they only take them on consignment.

Tom Johnson is an arm of Camping World.
They will buy it outright or take it on consignment.

Only go to Camping World if you absolutely, positively, totally HAVE to OR you have a great longing to be screwed.

"Last week I sold my Coach to Tom Johnson" Did you try to sell to an individual via e-bay/craigslist ? What was your experience ?

Buying, (then selling) any new RV has got to be the worst buying decision ever....we bought a new 5th wheel in '06 for $92K, went full-time for 8 years, got off the road in '14, it took 3 years to get it sold....for $20K. Not to say we didn't have fun along the way.....but it was expensive fun.

Regards

I didn’t bother with selling it on my own. I’m in a rural area with limited market.
Miles RV in Hendersonville, NC gave me a figure to work with, but was flush with my RV model and
didn’t have interest.
I called the next closest dealer, Tom Johnson Camping, Marion, NC, after back and forth email, and
sending in a questionnaire and original spec/option sheet, we agreed on a price.
The next day, I cleaned it in and out then drove it over. After the inspection, I was told when they quoted
me how much they would pay for the coach, the GM Bob thought it was a different model, and offered less than we originally agreed on....what a crock, he had the spec/option sheet to see what they were buying
before he quoted me the offer.
Rather than put it back in storage, and have further depreciation, we took the cash.

My Class C was less than a year old with 5K Miles, and showroom condition, we used it on three occasions, my wife and I had plans to Snowbird then had a change of heart.
We had it for a year, had fun, then turned the page on that chapter.

SELLER BEWARE
