Hi Southern friends,
I'm going to be traveling to Washington State in early June of 2018 and need a place to park my car & set up a small tent for 4 nights - I'll pay $30US per night if you have any room on an acreage, farm, whatever. Tried to get a campsite but they're already all booked. Going to Suquamish for a golf tournament, but anything not far from there would be excellent. BTW - have a portable toilet in case you're concerned about that! Appreciate any offers of help!

MrRational is merely suggesting that you also make the same post in the Washington state sub-forum of the USA forum of city-data.com in hopes of getting wider exposure for your need and offer. Good luck.

Edit: Or even in the Seattle sub-forum of the Washington state sub-forum.

OK, I'm new to this site and it was called Washington State something-or-other, not sure where to go to just find somewhere in Washington state. Wasn't meaning to be rude by any means, but I thought I was in the right place when I looked this up online.

Post here //www.city-data.com/forum/washington/ and change the thread title to something like Need short-term tent camping site on private land in Kitsap County. Could also try Craigslist or Airbnb (ask about camping, even if not listed. somebody might do it if you are charming).

How far away did you check the public campsites? 10 miles, 20 or 40? They are still your best bet. Sometimes spots open after cancellations. If you drive far enough, you could disperse camp on the Olympic Peninsula outside of campgrounds.

Is anyone else going to the tournament planning on camping? Have you checked to see if you could share a site?

If you are bold enough. a longshot might be to ask one of the fire departments. Tell them you'll buy some pork chops, steaks or prawns. If you are from Canada, make it seem like a friendly visit.

Looks like there may be a few campsites an hour away from Suquamish.

Or maybe find a rest stop not too far away and sleep in your car? Bring earplugs if you do that.

Good luck!

There are over 10 state parks, multiple county parks + fairgrounds in each county (within 30 min)(actually looks like 17 'public' and scads of private)

Google search shows lots of choices. For the county parks, even if booked... show up and check for cancellations (as previously mentioned).

I usually use the Fairgrounds at Port Townsend $4 IIRC (but that is 30+ minutes away)
