I could recommend a park model. Its a lot more difficult if you do want to change parks. They are also quite a bit more expensive than a used 5th wheel. Plus you can put the Rv in a storage lot. Youll pay every month on the park model whether your living in it or not.

One of my girlfriends has a fifth wheel they keep in Florida and snowbird just north of Tampa.

They drive their car in about November and stay through Easter. Most of their campground neighbors do the same and they are a very social bunch.

To the best of my knowledge, they've never towed their fifth wheel anywhere.

We use ours as our "Sunbird" home (reverse snowbird, if you will). The stick-and-brick is in Florida; we escape the Florida heat for 4-5 months in the summer and head for the hills.

Hi there SR----long time since i've been on this site--nice to see you're still working it!

I really like the model you've outlined and am seeking similar for myself---somewhere warm in the winter, (but not humid!), and affordable of course. Appreciate any guidance on where to look for such a place.

They also have no problem sitting for 6 mo to 6 yrs without being run, and are happy to snap to life.

Plus they are happy to drink any of many fuels (some are available FREE) (Kerosene, Jet-A, heating oil, used motor oil, or transmission or hydraulic fluid, or 'home brew', synthetic diesel, WVO, ...).

I have a few (<$500) GTD's (sport suspension GTI with Turbo diesel swap) They are fun in the mtns / utah parks / Beartooth, Driving to the Sun, and Trail Ridge Road (all are great fun at sunrise, NO TRAFFIC!, lots of 'twisties'.

Future 40 mpg Diesel Samurai and my 100+ mpg 'Trials' bikes round out my 'RV stable' (to accompany my 20 mpg Class C... at the moment).

If DS passes... I will find (or make) a mini Diesel Pusher (<30')
If I pass away... DS will have a GREAT estate sale! and likely update the 20 mpg mini C to same with less miles. (She loves that thing... )
HUGE picture window for sitting at beach or mtns and sewing / reading / knitting... HUGE shower... RV fits in a std car parking space and is < 9' tall.
