We've visited Vancouver Island several times now & haven't made it over to see beautiful Tofino yet. Does anyone know if it's super windy in the summer months? I'm sure it is in winter but curious if you get many or any glorious summer beach days without it.
Tofino is located in a rainforest zone. The rainy season is winter. It's also known as the "storm season" because large storms crash into the shore off the Pacific. I've been there in December years ago and had lovely sunny days. I never noticed it being particularly windy, but if a storm front is arriving off the Pacific, there will certainly be high winds. Keep in mind that the surf scene is at its peak in the winter months, so all that wind means large waves. I'd recommend going to Tofino regardless of the time of year.
Oh, and in the summer, no, you normally wouldn't get a lot of crazy windy days.
