I am gonna be visiting Vancouver from the US and have unlocked smartphone. I was gonna get Wind until I found out they run only 3G (faux-4g/HSPA+). What is my next best option to get from brick and mortar store? Can I get MVNO from store from Rogers (Fido), Telus or Bell? I will be there for only few days (4) so features are as not important as price but should be comfortable using my Google Maps, Navigation and emails without running out of allotment so pretty sure 250Mb will be enough, 500Mb just to be on safe side. Don't need minutes to the US or texts but may call for a few minutes to the US.
So far I am eyeing Rogers with basic prepaid voice plan + $20 add-on data plan promo for 500GB. As long as I can get cell phone plan for less than $40USD ($52CAN) which AT&T would love to extort me for their mediocre international plan I will be content but I am looking to save as much $ for as much service as possible. I will be staying in downtown area so pretty sure I will have many stores to choose from.
