I was born and riased in canada and so I know jsut like all my fellow canadians how much multicultural crap has been shoved down our throats. As I skimmed through a textbook, I read a passage that reffered to 200 years ago and our "right multicultural history".
At first I was stunned, but then I couldnt stop laughing at what I was reading. This government approved, liberal pollitically correct crap that they were shoving down each and every students throat. In fact, multi-cultulturalism was a policy brought in by the trudeau government in the 70's, and sicne then has managed to worm its way into our text books.
before this, we were multi-racial, or a multi-national (at origin) country. Sure people guarded some of thier customs, but not even close to all. you can see the difference now, jsut as your grandparents who may have came here. My step grandfather came to canada at a very young age, and him and the british boys would fight (well the british boys would fight him). When he went home, he explained to his mom, its because he was "german", and she responded |no, your canadian". its apparent alot has changed, and im hoping at the end alot of people will put in thier input. too often the left label any anti-multiculturalist thought rascist, as a sort of barrier against ideas that differ from them.
Now, we have severe gang "turf wars' between immigrant whose countries have feuds. During the small israel-lebanese conflict we had large manifestations by the lebanese saying "we support the hezbollah". doesnt that scare anyone? the hexbollah are considered a terrorist organization by Canada and yet we have people here, who obviously dont consider themselves canadian, supporting them.
And please dont even get me starte don the afro-centric schools... unless you ask me...
The main reason it doesnt work can be explained in this model. We have the UN, hwoever each country ahs its own rules. For example we
have democracy, while muslim countries hang homosexuals. If we tried to enforce one international law that made everyone follow suit would it work? heck no! it cant. similarily how we in canada tell people to guard their religion, culture and beliefs, but follow our rules. it doesnt work!!

The fact that the sharia laws were almost brought in, and that slowly but surely religious rights of others (because its certianly not christains gaining these advantages) are taking precedence over my freedom of speech (muslim cartoons) as well as my security and safety (sihks allowed to wear their (heres my politically correct response) "ceremonial daggers' in schools (despite incidents of stabbings). Please people. englands realized thier mistake. Australia has certianly realized it now, why cant we?

The idea of multi-culturalism in a country like france, would seem crazy, because its jsut expected of everyone to take the national identity. is the entire french population rascist? Yes i agree, its terrible the direction that this country is taking. and If Obama becomes the US president then America will follow the same path as this sorry excuse for a country. The US has already been ruined by all of their radical muslim immigrants who take advantage of their democracy, the last thing they need is a crazy left wing liberal who will provide even more rights to terrorists.
and you are also right about the multiculturalism crap shoved down our students throats. Back when i went to school in toronto, it was the exact same thing. The teachers used to always us that we should embrace all of our different cultures and our diversity. Good thing that even back when i was young, i stil didn't buy into all of that diversity bull****. I didnt have my mind brainwashed like so many other children in this country.

And God forbid John McCain and Sarah Palin win the election here. Already had 8 years of crap, I can't deal with 4 more. Notice how bad the world economy is doing right now? I'm in college too, and I can tell you've bought the multiculturalism fad hook line and sinker. Europeans are starting to wake up and realize that there own cultures are worth preserving, but multiculturalism is all the rage in U.S. academia.
By the way, It's not about race, its about culture.
Coming from another American here; do not let the 'politically correct' ways of doing things overrule common sense.
I am not referring to different religious practices, foods, celebrations, etc. provided they do not violate secular law in all fairness
