Is that for real? Why are they so pink when they come out of the water? They should be blue and half frozen.

Definitely for real. We also have a number of communities that do the "polar bear swim" each year on January 1st.

yeah but right now in vancouver it is 8 degrees celsius and kinda mild out and it looks to be a green christmas for us here on the west coast

8C eh? I won't go in the ocean unless the air temperature is at least 26C - so for me - 8C still equals a VERY stoic Canuck LOL.

LOL the only upside to this time of year is the beach is empty and you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot but I agree mid-20 degrees in july/august is great beach season out here in vancouver... how is the weather treating you where you are in jolly ol' england?
