I hope you all enjoy a great holiday filled with family and friends.

After a year of Navelbine, I've had some progression. Now every single vertebre from T1 on down has cancer, along with mets to both femurs, marrow, sternum, and pelvis.

So, for Christmas I'll be getting a new chemo! I'm actually excited about it. I'll be taking Xeloda, which is a pill I'll take daily. I've been driving to Pratt (164 miles round trip) every three weeks for chemo with another trip the next day for an injection. Then at least one additional trip to Pratt for either an office visit or an injection. It's been a hectic year. Now I'll only have to make the trip once a month! I'll get spoiled. Fingers crossed and praying it works as long and well as Navelbine did.

chele, you'll be in my prayers. I took Xeloda for six months. I had virtually NO side effects. A little tiredness, decreased appetite, but not much else.

I hope this works as well for you.

Merry Christmas! Chemo on Christmas Day doesn't sound like much fun, however being potentially life saving chemo is a good gift. On my 28th birthday I started chemo.

Merry Christmas to everyone, especially all of you who have been through radiation, chemo or surgery this year...

As much as no one wants to think about chemo as a gift, it is wonderful that science has given us so many gifts...50 oven 10 years ago many of todays treatments weren't even available.

Happy Chanukkah! I'm inviting a few of my cancerfriends over this weekend for my annual Holiday Chemopalooza to light the menorah, make latkes, decorate cookies, and watch Christmas movies. A lot of us can't afford to go home for the holidays because of the cost of treatment, so we try to stick together as holiday orphans.
