Most cancer centers have social workers and/or financial counselors to help you figure out this sort of thing. There are a lot of programs to help people in this situation, but many are specific to the type of cancer you have, and/or the specific treatment. Talk to the staff where you are being treated, they should be able to help you.

Good luck!

Christina is right: talk to the cancer center near to you or ask your doctor to refer you. There are ways to work around the problem. Either the center will give you treatments at a discount, offer suggestions or at least will offer an easy payment plan. They will not turn you down. They may not give you free treatment or even as cheaply as you would like, but they will do whatever they can to assist you, based on your needs.

I went through cancer with no insurance. I agree with the other posters...talk to the financial office. You aren't the first one in that position and they can steer you toward whatever help is available. I also appreciated getting the reassurance that the Drs and nurses didn't know about the financial end of things and I wasn't going to be treated like I had a scarlet letter on my chest.
