Just came across Brett Hudson's blog where he mentioned what he's taking for his throat cancer - you can read the specific entry here. He was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer in 2007. He is being treated at the same Klinic Farrah was at and is making his own documentary.

Brett was popular in the 70's; he's also Kate Hudson's uncle.

There have been a few posts where people are trying to figure out what's real and what's not with cancer treatment so I figured I'd share this.

So far he's cancer free, but for how long?
I do hope he's successful in beating it.

I hope this is not changing the subject just a bit, but someone posted a recent pic of Patrick Swayze. He looks so much better than he did just a few months ago.

Pancreatic cancer has no tests that are adequate to get it in the early stages, therefore most people are diagnosed in the later stages. Stage IV is the most common, it seems, and the majority of those dies within a year of the diagnosis. It happened to a friend of mine.

Mr. Swayze, however, is a year after his stage IV diagnosis and looks great.

Does anyone know what his total treatment is? He must be on some new, experimental something or an alternative that is working.

I actually posted the update in the Patrick post - from what I read at the link I posted here, he is also going to Germany. If you click on Brett's Blog he has an entry about Patrick.

OK, I'm mistaken. Here is the entry about Patrick Brett's entry about Patrick

I managed to read the whole blog the last few days, looks like they are calling it complimentary therapy.

It's pretty interesting, wish he'd have a main page where he breaks everything down so that you don't have to read every post.

What he did was sent his stuff (blood/test results) to Germany so that the Drs there could also give their input.
He ended up with less intense radiation; but Germany wasn't the one doing the radiation, they worked with his Dr's in the states. From what I got reading the blog, he was able to do milder treatment here due to what Germany was doing.

I'm going to have to do more research on this.

If you find anything out, dr. names, etc, it would be a good thing if you could also post it.

For colon not lung cancer my father went through this...

Who knows how long he had it being when he passed his pep scan and white blood cell count said he was fine... this is a little over a year ago....

I was/am against the chemo - radition... he never had radiation - but when first diagnosed after many appointments saying something isn't right... 7 years later after remission colon cancer turned into lung cancer... I have also researched that lung in remission can turn into colon cancer depends on the stem cells ...

He did amazingly great on a drug (sp) Advanstan for a year! .... perked up - after first chemo two days later called asked how he was -- he was on the Golf course REally! Great! Unfourtantley it didn't get the primary tumor... he passed away starting a trial back a year ago of a more pinpointing drug of Advanstan... I think this drug is it... hopefully it is on the market today ... no reciepe of BS just submitted to blood by surgar water....too my understanding. This has now been also become a treatment for breast cancer to my understanding. With the response he had to it I wouldn't question the treatment so much today but...

I think he would have done great on it but inbetween they did traditionaly chemo on him... That one I will pass on ... not a doctor but after seeing what it did to him... He always believed but tradition old school treatment if I am ever in situation I will pass....

I take a supplement that the company states if you take as directed for 4 months and you don't see a improvement when it comes to cancer etc they will reimburse your four month of products...
