Don’t get in a traffic accident in a tiny Toyota Yaris. It has the most injuries per crash of any vehicle, according to an insurance industry study.
The Highway Loss Data Institute looked at insurance data for model year 2009 through 2011 vehicles and found Yaris occupants filed personal injury claims 28.5 times for every 1,000 of the vehicles the industry insured.
Doesn't surprise me at all. What the **** were people thinking buying a tiny bubble car? They thought the car looked "cute"? Is it that the car itself is one of the least safe cars on the road, or that the people who buy them tend to be of the worst drivers? A Corolla costs barely more and is bigger, safer, and almost as fuel efficient. Heck, you can find deals on a base Camry or find a slightly used Camry for barely more than the price of a new Yaris and get a vehicle that is absolutely superior in every way.
I wonder how many of those injuries in small cars come from collisions with giant SUV's?..
