Shoud I add this to help her tummy digest wet food? She throws up about 1-2x/wk, so this was told to me but not sure if anyone uses it? I hate giving her people food but will wait to see you think?

The vet prescribed canned pumpkin for one of our cats who was constipated.

She wouldn't eat it so I mixed it with canned cat food.
She still wouldn't eat it.
None of the cats liked it.

I finally gave it to the coons.
They gobbled it right up.

I gave the cat Lactone.
It's kind of messy, but it worked.

I have given it to 2 cats and neither one of them would touch it. And this comes from one cat who I cannot decorate with live pumpkins because he loves to pull them off the counter and drag them around in his mouth. I thought he would have loved it!

Ok, thanks. She doesn't have any constipation problems but rather occasional diarrhea. She does eat ONLY wet, canned Wellness chicken food. I know this is rich & it maybe makes her belly queasy sometimes but I don't know.

I have given canned pumpkin to one of my cats - she is long haired, and I use it for both hairballs (constipation) and her soft stool problem (good for both!)

She loves it. But then again she loves food. So try it!

Since she won't eat the pumpkin (I've never heard of a cat who would so always wonder when this is advised<edit> with the exception of the above poster ) I recommend you add a probiotic to her daily intake.

Probios and benebac come in a tube, a gel form, and forti flora comes in a palatable powder. Most cats do like the taste of the probiotic and will lick it off your finger if you use the gel, or eat it right up if you use the fortiflora powder. forti flora is more expensive though.

I would start giving it daily for a week, then taper to every other day and so on until you are down to once a week, and see how she does.

Well ok but any idea of brands? I'm not a big believer of pharma made additives to put in to her. I do know the vet told me last yr, to not worry since it is occasional & could be due to eating too fast/much when she awakes or hairballs. She did spit up a bit today but munched a quick bowl of wet food down prior, so I think it is her habits. I'll cutback her amount again & see if this helps. Thanks catsmom.
