so i have a 7 month old kitten/cat (depends how you determine aging) and she will run around like crazy. shes not very big maybe 4 pounds, 26 inches (including tail). but what im wondering is, when i go to feed all three of my cats, she will run and eat the others' food before they can eat any. every time i fill a new dish, she runs and eats that, shes not on good terms with the other cats as she annoys them so they dont want to eat after her. also when she sees the others trying to eat later, she gets in their way and finishes off where they started. she eats so much she vomits a good bit of it back up later. not only that she likes to jump on the table and eat people food when you get up for five seconds. so im wondering what the best solution is, feed her in a different room while i feed the others? or not feed her until the others are done? and has anyone else had this problem with their cat/kitten?

its getting really frustrating, as none of or other cats have done this before.

Feed her in a separate place and give her smaller amounts! Some cats will do this..was she a rescue? She may think that she has to fight for her food and that no additional food will be forthcoming. LOL I've been owned by cats my entire life and also volunteer at a local shelter/rescue. That is my suggestion..for now feed her alone, separate from the others and give her smaller amounts to start.

ahh thank you! im not sure really, we got her from a girl in Wisconsin, she got her from a younger girl that found her. i've had her since she was 8 wks so im not sure what her situation was before that. but thanks i was thinking of something along those lines of feeding her elsewhere away from the others but then she dumps her dish. i will notify if it fixes her little problem.

I agree; feed her separately, away from the other cats. Let them finish their meal before setting the little one free to eat her own food.

As for the jumping on the table, I had a cat that did that. She loved my clam chowder. You could either take your food with you when you get up (inconvenient, to say the least!), shut her in another room while you eat, or just sit there and discipline her until she gets the idea.

Good luck!

A thought about the hyper cat/kitten w/ voracious appetite. Have you had her thyroid checked? Hard to say what this young cat endured before you came across her. Wishing all of you the best.

A lot of good input everyone! Although not a cat person I do believe all domesticated animals deserve a chance.
