There has to be someone around here with a clowder of black cats that are all almost identical. They must dump them off once in awhile to thin them out. Two adult males that were almost identical with the same temperaments already came and went (vetted and given away) in the last 18 months. We've been seeing another stocky black cat on the property occasionally and thought he belonged so someone on the road. Apparently that's not the case as he's getting thinner and coming up on my porch at night. He looks just like they did, same build, same jet black with no white spots, and at first I thought one had come back. Last night he was trying to get in the window that's open in the day to a large cage on the porch. Because of the cage, he couldn't get in even if the window was open. Our cats can go in and out at will and are safe. When I put the porch light on to see better, he fled down the stairs. I left a bowl of cat food out and it was gone this morning. But that doesn't mean he ate it as we have coons and possums here.
