The 4lb bags are supposed to be $5.99 until 10/23. By then, I expect to have the outdoor cats stocked up.
But in the meantime, I have to find an organization that will help me with the vet bill for one cat...
I looked at the other thread again. I'm guessing you are familiar with the orgs in this link under Low Cost Vet near the bottom? SNAP San Diego - Links Good luck.
I've looked at those, and I probably either wouldn't qualify or there's a long waiting list. I'm not disabled or elderly, just low income, but it's not an emergency. She's doesn't need to be spayed, she has either a growth or abcess. I would have to take her to a vet, get a written estimate, and then submit it. That's kind of stupid to me. Take the cat to the vet and have it looked at, then submit the paperwork and wait. If I had the money, I'd take the cat to the vet and have the problem taken care of. She's one of the outdoor cats, if it was Snickers, he would have been to the vet and back already. My emergency fund is for myself and him, not others, even though I'd like it to be.
I got two more 4lb bags of Authority for $.99 each today, along with the four free cans of Authority cat food. The outdoor cats will be very happy, and so will I, since I won't have to buy them any food for a while.
There's a couple of places that I can call, but I can't do it until after I pay my rent. I called them for my neighbor, since it was time to get his "teenager" neutered, and I was asked how much he could pay. So I can't do it right now, and it doesn't seem to bother her, though. I'm also not a rescue, so I have to see what I can find.
