Sometimes eating certain things or trying to means something specific. Is this one of those, or is he just being weird?

There is no flavor to them. They are not pieces from packages of food. Of course I take them away. Hopefully he hasn't actually ingested when not in my sight...........

No. Just the last week I have been taking cellophane out of his mouth and telling him he is a silly boy.

One of my girls has taken to chewing holes in the crocheted couch covers. Its just one couch, and one color. The problem is that I don't think I can fix them and will have to redo them by hand. I'm also getting NEW yarn lest she sicks the new cushion cover. I'm also considering finding something cats hate the taste of, and given it a thinned out squirt.

The other odd thing is she is only nibbling on the cardinal red parts. She ignores the blue, but both had been in the same box with the same spill. Maybe she thinks its some exotic kind of stringy cat food????

My boy cat, Scooter, loves to chew on any plastic he can find. I order all my canned cat food online, and it comes in boxes with heavy plastic wrap. I'll often find him trying to chew off a piece of the plastic overwrap and have to chase him away. If I tear a plastic strip off a package of meat or cheese, he will try to grab and chew it.

Ironically, he is terrified of plastic grocery bags though.

I've got a cat that is a chewer. She did used to play with the heavy strips of plastic that came off of bottles when you broke the seal and the rings (don't see them anymore) from plastic milk jugs was one of her favorites. She would gnaw on for a little while then lose interest. I have some official cat toys for chewing on that I store in a container with some catnip.

Somewhere I read that certain types of plastic are made with fish emulsion. Maybe that's what is attracting him?

Ours love to find plastic and chew on it. I have to keep taking it away, but they keep finding more. Not sure what the attraction is, but they can find the smallest piece and sneak away with it.
