Tonight, or technically this morning, our cat, Boo Boo became an angel.

Boo Boo was about 17 years old and had a long and good life. The past few years, however, he suffered from various aliments. He lost both eyes to glaucoma, rendering him blind. He adjusted well to his blindness, and spent many happy days in his enclosed backyard. However, age took its toll.

He developed lymphoma, and cancer in his GI trac. He also had severe arthritis in his hind quarters. An echogram revealed an enlarged heart. We took him to Texas A&M vet school for treatment, which bought him another year of a good quality of life.

Then, just last night, he went downhill. He started circling, head-pressing, drooling. We took him to the ER, where they said he was having a seizure, possibly from a brain tumor. They offered several treatment options, including stabilizing, pain management, various tests, etc, but we said he's had enough. It was time for us to part. They put him to sleep as we stayed with him. I don't know if he was aware as we petted him and said goodbye, but I like to think he knew we said goodbye.

Well, Goodbye Boo Boo! You're now free from suffering! We love you!

So sorry to hear about Boo Boo Kitty. I'm glad you were able to be there with him as he got his wings though. I wish they had heart emojis here - I'd give you one with hugs.

My condolences. You took good care of him right up until the end. He likely could still sense you and your love as you said goodbye.

Geez now I'm tearing up. . .

Hello. I'm so very sorry to hear of Boo Boo's passing. But he had a very good life and it is so nice you got to spend his last hours together. We had a black kitty, named Boo, in '08 pass. He had kidney failure. I was devastated. I know how bad you feel. I will send prayers and hugs to you and Boo Boo, and I know you WILL see him again in the afterlife at Rainbow Bridge. May He Rest In Peace, Boo Boo.
