MUNCIE, Ind. -- An Indiana man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting he forced his 7-year-old daughter to stab the family cat to death.

During his sentencing Friday, Daniel Collins said he was "extremely sorry" for his actions. The judge in the case told him it wasn't "civilized conduct."

I feel sorry for the children, who tried to hide the cat from their inebriated father. Hopefully they can overcome this traumatic incident and grow up to show their father how compassionate people should act.

That is just terrible and 18 months is not enough time.

Someone here on Long Island strangled Teddy a lovely goat that would climb onto people's laps and hug them. I guess Teddy thought that the person was coming to pet him and willingly went right with him.

I just hope that the person is caught. There's a reward. What is wrong with these people anyway?

that's very disturbing. imagine what having a parent like that is going to do to those kids in the long run. maybe they can be raised by another relative. ugh

I don't understand a mother who would allow her children to grow up in a home with this kind of person. For that matter, what woman/man/child/cat/dog/etc. would want to live with this sicko?

Same here. And whatever it is, I'll volunteer to do it - gladly.
