Hi there,

I have a 1 dog and 3 cats.

Our "little girl", Besheret (means meant to be in Hebrew) found us in a parking lot one year ago.

She has a funny little habit of playing with my hair ties, bands.

She loves to sling shot them and toss them around.

She even loves to toss them into either the cats water bowl or our dogs water bowl.

She has recently started tossing them into the toilet.

Funny thing is that I try to hide them, as she ruins them. She will search my gym bag, make up bag and purses for hair ties. She tosses them into water when found.

The only other thing she tosses into water is her favorite toy, a tiny stuffed "pillow".

I think it is super cute, a bit obnoxious as when I do come home after being gone for the day I am dissapointed that the dog or cat water was not "fresh" and I am not sure for how long.

Anyway, anyone have any stories or pointers on her silly habit?

I am not totally sure why cats do this. But all of mine do the same. If they are not found in the water, then I can find them in my shoes. We too give them hair ties (covered rubberbands) to play with....a favorite among them and cheap too!

Too funny!

I have to be extra vigilant not to leave rubber bands, ribbons, hair ties, etc. around the house, because BoyKitty will eat them. One day I heard him gagging in the other room, and pulled two feet of cloth ribbon out of him.

Stupid cat. *sigh*

That's why I always keep all toilet lids closed!

What gets really bad are those furry mousies. They are dyed, and when they get wet they disintegrate...and discolor anything they touch. I don't know why some kittys need to drown their toys.

my cat will play for hours with the tie wire(the small plastic wire used for tying wires). she will play and play and play with it. the other day while playing she sent one of the wires under the fridge and then she was waiting for it to come out!! i got few more for her and now she is busy again
it is fun to watch ....all the jumping, running she will do with it!

I hope she doesn't get it stuck in her throat. It could do real damage. I don't mean to be a killjoy.
