Hi,
Like most cats mine like to drink from a running tap, but I can't leave my taps running all day so I want to get one of those automatic waterers. I'm told the Catit Deluxe from Petsmart is the easiest to use and maintain but I was wondering if anyone here had other suggestions?

I like the look of the Drinkwell because it has a mini waterfall effect which my cats love but the reviews are not very positive.

I recently bought this one, Drinkwell 360. It seems just perfect. I prefer it to the other Drinkwell models, coz it looks just like a real water fountain and my cat gets to splash around in it.

I prefer Drinkwells. The older versions (the Original) was a bear to clean! But the newer models, re the Platnium, is much easier. It doesn't clog with hair quite as easily. I also have the huge Drinkwell "Big Dog" waterer...which the cats and dog love as well. They are dishwasher safe (top shelf) and that makes it nice too.
Stay away from the "Cat It"...it is really hard to clean and they don't last long. My original drinkwell I bought is still going strong after 6 years...never had a problem with it.

where did you get this? It would be Bubba's new favorite thing and would save me from having to go into the bathroom and dump a glass of water in the tub to make it wet for him AGAIN!!!!! Plus he could stick his foot in it and that's a fun game for him.....

I know what you mean, we had to fill up our sink all the time. She kept calling for us to do so like 15 X a day, lol. And boy does she love splashing around in water!

If you live in the states, you can purchase one here : Amazon.com: Drinkwell 360 Pet Fountain: Kitchen & Dining

I presume the Drinkwell runs off electricity rather than battery? If you ran it all day, would it run out of water and how quickly?

Yes, runs on electricity. Mine (the Platnium) has a pretty good size reserve of water. Which is why I went with that type. If they run out of water, you burn the motor out. I fill mine once a week.. I have 5 cats drinking from it, but I also have 3 others that are available to them. Mine run 24/7.

It runs on electricity. It has a minimum line and maximum line marked in it, so you'll know when to fill up. I just use a small bowl to pour more water into it. I'm letting my run 24/7 too. How fast it will run out, depends on how many cats you have.

I top off the Drinkwell every day, and empty & clean it weekly. The cats like it a lot.
