When I got home from work last night I softly said, "here kitty kitty kitty" and he came right out from under the bed and rolled around all over me. And then he used his litter box and ate! He spent the night curled up in my neck. He still ran under the bed when he heard the dog come to the bedroom door, but I think we're making progress! This morning while I was getting ready, I left the bedroom door open but the baby gate in place. Kitty was on the bed and Ari came over to check things out and they just kind of looked at each other for little bit. Yay!
Wow, that's one good-lookin' cat--he's adorable, thanks for posting the pic. And for what it's worth, he looks very, very happy, in spite of his unsuccessful intro to the dog
Stunning!
Sorry, if I missed it, but you may also want to the "old towel, rub and exchange trick". Scent has everything to do with animals cohabitating.. Fuzz will definately come around, but it does take time...even if he was used to dogs at the rescue.
Rub a towel on each cat and dog and then exchange towels. Give both animals a chance to become accustomed to each others scent, before they actually come nose to nose again. Even then, there will be some hissing, but they will eventually acclimate to one another. The very important key is to go slowly.
What a good lookin bed! - hey there's a cute lookin' Fuzz sittin on it!
I'm so happy! They're watching eachother guardedly.. that's ok! And he came to you and loved you all over... that's wonderful!! Hurray for Fuzzball!
