Allman, who was diagnosed with hepatitis C in late 2007, underwent the transplant at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.
Didn't know he had Hepatitis C. I wonder if this is the end result of a long life of alcohol and drug abuse? Talented musician.....I wish him well.

I had thought that he'd been clean and sober for many years...but I guess things can catch up with you. I too wish him well.

Yup, they sure can. My father was sober from alcohol for about 21 years and he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver 1 year before he died. It took that long to catch up with him.

I thought he was diagnosed way before that? I thought Cher said something about it.

I'm just glad that someone donated. It would break my heart to lose him. I have him inked on my left ankle. I don't know what it is about him but my heart always skips a beat when I see or hear him.
