Global Fame: Movie/Pop stars or soccer stars? (Madonna, Europe, Marlon Brando)

I was just wondering who you think are, globally speaking, the most well-known? So I mean not only in the U.S. or in Europe, but truly everywhere (Asia, Latin America, Africa,...).

I realize most people on these forums are Americans, so you might be inclined to go with the movie/pop stars. But do keep in mind that, outside the U.S., soccer is a very popular game.

So:
Lionel Messi or Madonna?
Christiano Ronaldo or Lady Gaga?
Wayne Rooney or Will Smith?
Andres Iniesta or Johnny Depp?
Diego Maradona or Michael Jackson?
Pele or Marlon Brando?
Zinedine Zidane or Bono?
etc...
