I don't think anyone is an arrogant a person as Madonna is today.

That's my take on the subject also. However since I was not born into this particular decade I cannot begin to understand the adoration befitting Lady Gaga. I happen to remember Madonna getting the same negative attention from the "older" crowd back when I was young. Just saying....

I agree Gaga should tone down the antics, but she is a GREAT songwriter and her voice is awesome! I adore her!

So before she went "mainstream," she looked a lot more.... mainstream.

I didn't quite get that either

Those pics make me even more certain she had to become outrageous in order to be noticed by record producers, she's not pretty/sexy enough to make it in todays pop music world where looks, and sexiness count as much as, if not more than talent. A plain looking singer has to find another way in.

Leigh Bowery's look + Madonna-type song stylings = Gaga. Don't hate her, but not in awe or remotely interested either. From the start I figured her look was manufactured to get attention. It worked.

She almost looks pretty and somewhat attractive. And not the freak show that she is today.
