There is little I can add that hasn't been already stated in this thread.

If an individual couldn't get along with Dick Clark, they wouldn't be able to get along with anybody.

He was such a wonderful, smart, happy person.

On hearing of his death I was immediately taken back to my preteen years and I smiled at the memories of him.

Smacking gum wildly "Yeah, I love the words but the beat lacks something. It's hard to dance to. I'll give it a 7."

I had a coworker who along with his sister danced on American Bandstand in the late 70s.

He said that Dick Clark was just as nice as he appeared to be in real life on TV.

Felt very bad when I heard the news, AB was a big part of my teens and 20s.

RIP Dick Clark & thank you for all the good memories you've given hundreds of thousands. Enjoyed him as the game show host on $100,000.00 Pyramid too.

Some of today's "celebrities" would do so much better if they tried to emulate Dick Clark.

Very sad indeed. Becoming a teen during the early 70's, and being a big fan of music on the radio, Saturday afternoons offered Dick Clark and American Bandstand. An awesome way to catch artists of the time on television. Very exciting to place faces on some of the great music of the day, courtesy of Dick Clark. RIP.

How sad. I remember watching AB during the 70s as a kid and noting the fashions those kids wore. I thought Rate-A-Record was so fun - "it has a good beat and you can dance to it, I give it a 75".

Wow, I feel kind of old now knowing that is the first time in my lifetime of 46 years that Dick Clark will not be on TV live anymore.

Mr. Clark - you rate a 100 - RIP.
