Barbra Streisand said something like that to him in 'Funny Girl' as I remember! He was always an interesting actor. In the 60s he played a wide variety of roles. He was an educated man, and spoke six languages fluently.
He was always good, and in some films very good. 'Dr. Zhivago' wouldn't have been the same without him in the leading role. In recent photos, his eyes looked haunted. He felt he had wasted much of his life. Well, he left his mark, and will be missed. RIP Omar.
