Burt Reynolds was quite adamant in a recent interview that Charlie Sheen has only himself to blame for his HIV diagnosis.
During an interview with U.K. talk show Loose Women, the 79-year-old actor was more than candid about what he thought of Sheen disclosing to the public that he is HIV positive.
Kind of a cold thing to say, but ok. I don't know if people "deserve" to die because they have a lot of sex. Seems kind of odd to me. Perhaps, he knows Charlie and just doesn't like him. But to say that he "deserves" to die for having a lot of sex seems really cold.
I didn't watch the clip, but I don't think that Burt Reynolds should have said what he did. Maybe he's old and crotchety and he resents Charlie Sheen for being young and still being able to party, whereas he can't do it anymore himself. Who knows?
Glass houses and all that.
No one deserves a diagnosis of HIV, or any other serious ailment, for that matter.
Charlie Sheen is reaping the consequences of his own actions. Perhaps "deserve" is the wrong word. There is nobody on the planet who hasn't heard of the HIV virus and how it is transmitted. Stupid careless people die every day.
Burt Reynolds ruined his own life and career by becoming addicted to prescription drugs. He could have made some bad choices and wound up like Charlie Sheen, so that's why he probably feels like he can say something that harsh.
The gay men who got caught in the early 80s, when nobody knew about it, deserve our pity, but not Charlie Sheen.
Burt Reynolds had issues with drugs, and so did/does Sheen.
People who do often make poor decisions because their brains aren't functioning as a clear-headed person's would. Doesn't mean that they deserve to have a potentially fatal illness, though.
Back in the early '80s when AIDS reared its ugly head, it wasn't just gay men who were afflicted by this virus. So were some intravenous drug users, and straight people as well.
If you play with fire, ya gonna get burned. I'm pretty sure Sheen knew he was playing Russian roulette. He's done a lot to promote promiscuity. Maybe he can help bring awareness to the reality of consequences.
gentlearts, I bet you got a lot of reps for that post. I gave ya one!

I agree with Reynolds.
Irresponsible, selfish actions have consequences. Sheen is reaping what he sowed (and bragged about). No sympathies for him.
