Sad news indeed. Alan Rickman, in Die Hard, ensured forever after nasty villain's had to have an English accent!!
I guess he will be best remembered for the Harry Potter films......... he was another of those great theatre actors, who went into films. If you can do Shakespeare well, movies are easy..........
I just now saw it, so hard to believe, loved him so much, especially his role in Sense and Sensibility.
He came across as such a gallant, charming and confident man.
So sad...

I first saw him as Hans Gruber in Die Hard and became an immediate fan. I loved his performance in Truly, Madly, Deeply - and own the DVD. Another fun film of his is Blow Dry, and I just re-watched Love, Actually, a few times over the holidays.
My heart is broken! First Bowie now Rickman. I'm so sad. Rest in Peace professor Snape, you were always one of my very favorites!
