Joe Santos played Lt. Dennis Becker on Rockford Files and died of a heart attack at age 84. Loved Rockford Files and liked his character. RIP.

Sad news. He was terrific on Rockford Files. He and James Garner had a good chemistry.

Am up late watching Rockford Files (then Kojak) on MeTV and saw the news.

So very sad to hear, but am glad Mr. Santos lead a full and long life.

RIP and *Thank You*!

We've been watching the entire series on Netflix on and off for quite a while now. We have ONE episode left to watch, which we've been putting off because we don't want it to end. Now this.

They did have great chemistry; there was great chemistry all over that show.

Have a question? Did Jim Rockford *ever* make any money from his investigations? That is get paid for his services? He seems always to be getting stiffed. That could be usually because his jobs come from or involve a skirt in which case he seems to lose all reason. *LOL*

Thinking back, it sure seems he never really made much money. thats one of the the things that made the character so popular. He didn't have a flashy car or expensive house, he had to use his smarts and quick wit to solve crimes and get out of sticky situations.

RIP Joe Santos.

He and Stuart Margolin played really good supporting roles, that helped to make "Rockford" one of the better detective shows.

I believe that Tom Selleck in the role of Lance White impressed somebody enough to make "Magnum, P.I." around him.

Must have been the time period because it seems all PIs and LE shows have main characters that seem to consider themselves "Big Daddy". *LOL*

MeTV runs The Rockford Files, Kojak, and McCloud back to back in our area. The latter alternates with McMillian and Wife which I cannot watch (Susan Saint James's character gets on my nerves). The first three always seem to involve romancing with their professional duties.
