While I've always liked Katherine Heigl, whenever she opened her mouth a little too often, it rankled too many in the business to effectively further her career. I'm really hoping that she can overcome this and make a great comeback one of these days. And there's nothing wrong with commercials.

I don't know, I think it depends on the commercial.
Katherine publicly insulted some "big name" Hollywood people, who probably never hear the truth otherwise and can't stand to hear it. Hollywood egos are terribly fragile. But, just like a lowly peon who insults their jerk boss at a 9-5 job, Heigl discovered that being vocal about your opinions is not best route when you want/need to work. I don't know, I guess there are rumors about Heigl being a diva on set and so forth, but who can really trust what media reports anymore?
Back on topic, I think Katherine must NEED the money in order to get by. Why else settle for something like this? These types get so spoiled by that particular lifestyle they are unwilling to let go of their excesses, even in the face of humiliation (I can't see her not being a bit, considering). Any other Joe Blow could have taken the proceeds from just one of her movies, wisely invested, and lived off the proceeds for life.
If I was an apatow, and that diva said half the stuff she said about me, id NEVER cast her arrogant but again
she is a B+ list actress...no more...she acted like an A++++ diva
she deserves kitty litter commercials

Especially in this case.
Katherine partnered with Cat's Pride to keep the animal charity that was started as a memorial to her brother, who died in a car accident at 15, which was struggling, viable.
The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation’s mission is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance. The Heigl family was inspired by Jason’s compassion for animals and is committed to keeping his love and memory alive through acts of generosity and kindness toward animals through the Foundation’s work. The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation has helped improve the lives of over 25,000 animals since its inception.
I have always liked her and since I found out about this, I like her even more.
BTW, she and her husband have also adopted two daughters.

She is only good with romantic comedies and after certain age, it just won't work. She is not Angelina Jolie or Michelle Williams who can act and do drama movies well into their 50s and 60s.
I think Heigle is a decent actress. I've not heard any rumors about her being difficult, but I don't pay attention to that kind of stuff for the most part. I see nothing wrong with actors taking jobs in commercials for products such as kitty litter or toothpastes...a job is a job. It shouldn't be beneath them to do it. It's no different than say someone who use to sell insurance to suddenly be selling fast food. If you need the money, a job is a job.

I know there was some hoopla over her taking herself out of Emmy consideration for her role on "Grey's Anatomy," and I believe it was her comments over her work that year not being strong enough that got her fired rather than just quietly removing her name.
