I once saw Wolfman Jack in a Rose's department here in North Carolina where I live. This goes back probably 25 years. I later found out, he lived just the next county over not too far away. He looked just the same as you've seen him in movies.
Not so strange, but I was going through a shoe box of old theatre programs last night and was reminded that I saw Edward Norton in his high school production of Pippin in the mid - '80's.
Had coffee next to Matthew Broderick in an old cafe in Times Square. It was in a hotel I worked at. Nice guy he was. Sat there like any other diner.
He's my neighbor out at the beach, so I see him and SJP on the beach pretty often. And at day camp drop off and pick up with our daughters. I don't know if those are considered "strange" places though.
They drive a station wagon. Like, a real 1970s station wagon.
I was in an office supply store when I looked up at the line waiting for the cashier and was surprised to see an actor. A name that many of us know, but a character actor, not one of the pretty boys earning the giant bucks. I'm going to keep his name private here, though, because he was doing something embarrassing: He was picking his nose! Gross!!!
I saw a celebrity when I stayed there too. And some giraffes.
Yeah, it's an awesome place; our favorite Disney resort hotel.
