I just found out this week.. I've been rewatching Grace Under Fire now that it's on Amazon Prime.. Really a VERY good series from the mid to late 90's. If I recall, it was the leadout for Roseanne.
Brett Butler was the star and was just a hot mess through its run.. Lots of drug problems. The kid who played her son, Jon Paul Steuer left the show after the third season.. Supposedly because his mom pulled him from the show after Butler flashed her boobs at him.. The kid was 12 at the time, if I recall. Little known trivia.. This show was the first acting gig for the Sprouse twins as well.
Anyway.. That kid, Jon Paul Steuer, died on New Years Day at 33.
He had some pretty big roles in the 90's.. He was the original Alexander Rozhenko in Star Trek - The Next Generation (Worf's son) before Brian Bonsall took over for a few episodes. He was in the Ed O'Neill/Rick Moranis movie "Little Giants". And his role on Grace Under Fire.
He left acting, because a punk rock singer, called himself Jonny P. Jewels and opened a Vegan restaurant in Portland.
There were rumors that Butler's drinking and drug issues caused her to be creepy with him. His parents had him quit after she allegedly flashed him when he was 12. Who knows if more happened? Sad fall for ''Grace Under Fire'' | EW.com

Good to see some stage parents looking out for their children in Hollywood.
