This is one of those 'dead in 3 months' things. Think Michael Landon.. Patrick Swayze surviving as long as he did, which was about a year, was extremely abnormal.

80 isn't *that* old. There are many, many people who live to 90 and above.

Alex, 80? Wow, he's one of those ages well types. I heard this AM that he has pancreatic cancer but it wasn't until I came on this thread, that I see stage 4. Sad

Have an older friend who survived the pan pancreatic cancer for 4 years now and just got another clean bill of health. Another friend survived 7 years now.
Stage 4 is tough! The treatment alone may kill you at 80...

Bob Barker is 95 and will likely outlast Trebek, in the next few months unfortunately.
