Oh give me a break. At 16, you should be able to brush off a nasty comment. Helicopter parenting is ruining the next generation. I don't think what he said was appropriate, but teaching your kids to run and complain doesn't help.
No offense, but taking the types of pictures she does at her age is why someone would say "Go make a sex tape already!"
I'm rubber you're glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me
I agree. But did you say the same thing for the Rutgers (college aged, supposedly college educated women, mind you) basketball team and coach? They are older, wiser, and have more experience...yet they made it a national event crying in front of cameras, talking about their "feelings" etc.

Do you remember the 50's, early 60's h*ll even in the 70's ................. I suppose you would call it helicopter parenting.
Children should be allowed to be innocent and children because once they loose that they can never get it back! To rob a child of that is unconscionable.
The adults should be protecting the kids if such things are said about a child! End of story!!!!
I didn't whine or cry about Imus, I think it was a bit distasteful, but so what? You don't like it, you don't listen to the station.
Is anyone complaining here a paid subscriber to Sirius?
Yeah...jokes are just that. Jokes. I really get annoyed by the whole PC thing (obviously there are some things you shouldnt make fun of...at least not mean, hateful jokes...like against handicapped people, etc)

What's going to happen when someone confronts your teenager and you're not around? Are they going to have to panic and run for an adult, or diffuse the situation and handle it themselves with confidence?
Someone making a snide comment about a teenager is not "robbing them of their innocence". That's ridiculous. You should be setting your kids up for the real world by the time they're in high school - ESPECIALLY if they are in the public eye.

Yup. They have the right to feel slighted, but I think they did it for publicity.
Personally, I would have said "OK, you shriveled up old man!".
(and I am a "filthy liberal" - I don't believe in censorship)
If anyone cares, there are XL stations on Sirius that make fun of black people all the time without censure.

Best thing for her to do is just come up with a funny reply. Make fun out of it by making fun of him. I'm sure there are plenty of things he wouldnt exactly like people making fun of...couldnt be too hard to come back with something. It could only help both of them in the long run I would think.

Preach it brother! They keep proving they are nothing but a faction of double-talking scumbags!
click on the link to see this outrageous Jamie Foxx...and where is the outcry to have him fired...or is it as he claims..allowed because he is a comedian?
Why did a white person got fired and was the outcry so loud and now you hardly hear anything...who else is sick of the double standards?

Well I will say that the comments Jamie Foxx made were not cool. Should he lose his job? I don't know nor do I care.
Miley Cyrus is a celebrity she's fair game. She also has millions of dollars she'll be okay.
As far as bringing race into it. Well he didn't make comments that had anything to do with race, from my understanding. He said some things that were not very nice. He could certainly stand to apologize to Miley Cyrus for being mean. He doesn't owe anyone else an apology though.
Now keep in mind that Imus didn't initially lose his job. Maybe Foxx will lose his. Hard to say. Imus only lost his job because enough people were upset. So yes if enough people got upset AND people canceled their subscriptions then he too would have to be fired from a business standpoint.
