I thought Dick Cavett was the best. That man really knew how to get his guests to relax and discuss aspects of their life or opinions that they otherwise wouldn't share on other shows.

Agreed. My favorite thing about him was that he invited really unconventional (at the time) people on his show. He could sit and talk with characters like Janis Joplin or Jimi Hendrix, and treat them with the utmost respect, and as total equals. He looked like a square kinda guy, but he was very cool.

Johnny Carson was the only one I ever liked or cared about. The others are just not as funny or organized to me. I get lost on what they are saying half the time in today's talk shows.
