Has anyone else experienced problems with the iPhone's streaming services (internet/facebook/pandora) while at the gym?? I like to watch something while I'm working out and the news/sports that they play on the big tv's don't cut it. I have the netflix app as well as some shows on my iTunes, but neither would play - it was like the connection was too slow. I appear to have full service, so I don't know why I can't stream. Any thoughts??
You can appear to have "full service" by virtue of having a strong signal, but that doesn't tell the whole story.
Despite a strong signal, the cell phone network can give you poor voice and especially poor data service when it tries to support too many connections to a single tower. That results in garbled and dropped calls, calls not connecting or ringing to your phone, and very, very slow data throughput. The other reason for slow data is if the tower's connection to the internet (called tower "backhaul") is overloaded.
Or maybe Siri just doesn't care for exercise.
