I thought Canonical already scaled a smartphone version of Ubuntu about a year ago? I swear it was available for download from their website. Perhaps it was only a beta?

Thew news said it does not need to run on a virtual machine as Android does, so I suppose it should run faster on the same hardware?

But gesture control is not my cup of tea, and many may not get used to it in a while which could delay adoption.

Anyways it seems promising but I am not sure how can it compete against iOS and Android?
