Just trying to get an idea of what cool apps are available and if I should get them.

Currently I have Yahoo sports, Runtastic, Candy Crush, Zynga poker, Angry Birds.... yeah, boring.

These are the apps which I downloaded on my iPhone:

Stock Tracker
Strava
MSN News
MSN Sports
Flipboard
MLS
You Tube
Instagram
Twitter
Just Unfollow
TuneIn Radio

There are about 8 more that came on the phone like iTunes, weather, maps, etc. Flipboard and Strava are my favorite apps.

most of my most used apps are actually widgets that stay on on my home screens (even though i rarely click on them):
ap news
espn score center
accu weather
go calendar
image gallery photo frame

also i like lbe security (runs like a daemon in the background) to disallow the crazy permissions of most apps (why does mixzing music player need access to my location ?).

here are some of my other favorites:
Quote:
clockworkmod (bootloader allows to install different roms)
air calc (floatable widget tip calculator)
contact vibrate (set different vibrate rhythms for each contact)
connectbot (bash terminal)
file expert (rooted file navigation tree)
andftp (scp client)
go launcher (homescreen and menu dashboard)
- allows for double-tap gestures to launch an app
graffiti (change keyboard to palm pilot grafitti input)
opera (web browser i use for flash streams)
sshdroid (ssh server)
xbmc (dlna enabled media player)
xbmc remote (allows to control another xbmc machine via wifi)
androidlost.com (remote maintenance and tracking of devices)
animgif (allows for homescreen background picture to be an animated gif)
airdroid (use fone functions via web browser)
unnamed-rom
- allows for rooted access to wifi hotspot
... on my galaxy s-2.

If you live in a big city, Citymapper is the singularly best app there is to find your way around.
