I have an older Android phone with the stock browser.

Sometimes when I look at a page of Google search results, the phone will totally ignore tapping on a link. I can remedy this by zooming a little or by going to portrait mode. It doesn't happen every time. It only happens on a Google results page.

Anyone have this problem or know what it is?

I've had the same thing happen to me.
Usually there are to many processes running in the background.
Restart the phone problem solved.

Try clearing the cache and clean junk apps and programs and update the OS if possible.

Why would a problem happen only with Google search results in the browser?
It never happens in other sites or in apps.

And I do clear the cache often.

Ive had this occur in the Android browser, and on Opera and Dophin, on my phone and Kindle Fire. Happens much more often on the Fire which is older and has less memory. If I hold my finger on the link and load in a new tab it works.
