Just upgraded today and the voice quality when receiving calls is terrible - very muffled and hard to understand. I can put it on speaker and it's fine but that's not very practical in most situations. After doing some googling, I enabled the LTE voice and data, but with no discernible effect. Any suggestions?

Have someone else calling you from another phone, and take the phone back if the voice is not clear. I have a 5s, and it's as clear as it should be, and my coworker's 6s is just as good or better than mine.

Agree. It should sound pretty good. I assume Verizon? The voice and data thing turns on HD VOICE and when you talk to someone else with HD VOICE on it should sound AMAZING. A lot of people don't have that enabled though as it is not turned on by default.

Yes, it's Verizon. I guess I'll be heading back to the Verizon store today. Thanks for your input.

Just a follow-up. I took the phone back and they went through all the rigmarole necessary to exchange it, only to find the new one had the same problem. Turns out it was the very pricey Lifeproof case. Apparently there is a piece of plastic inside near the top that, if loose, can cause the sound to reverberate, giving voice calls a "tinny" sound. Got a new case too. Live and learn.

I just came back to ask you if your new phone had a case, and to take it off and try again.

Glad that you found what the problem was.

Thanks, Ray. I really hate that Lifeproof case. The buttons are hard to use and the charging flap is practically impossible to open and close. I should have just waited and gotten an Otterbox or something similar on Amazon. Back to the Verizon store today to return the case (I hope.) They may not let me in the door!
