Always assumed most people didn't; curious enough to do a poll.
And Yes, Dude111 we know you don't have a smartphone and never will.
Work pays for my insurance, otherwise I would not have it.
Really?? I can't fix my typo, and I can't delete my thread and redo?
Who thinks this is how a forum should be run??? #annoying
Can I have a mod fix the typo???
I'm using a Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone that I can replace with a used one for $80--$120, and I keep a second one on hand to swap out after it croaks or I drop it.
No insurance.
I expect I will either upgrade to another Windowsphone, or (more likely) go back to Android next year, and at that, I will probably carry insurance again, just due to my record of destruction and the price I will pay.
Most insurance is a complete waste of money. They hit you with a monthly charge, a high deductible, and if you read the fine print, pretty much everything that could ever happen to your phone is excluded from the coverage. Basically a total ripoff.
I have had to use the insurance a couple of times over the years, and it has always been good. However, this time we just bought a cheap Lumia to use if something goes wrong.
I wasted enough $$$ on insurance over the last five years to pay for a new iPhone. Never had a claim nor did Mrs5150. That would make two iPhones worth of premiums. So when I got my 6 last January, I did not insure it. Plus Squaretrade only gives you a refurbished phone as a replacement.

$11/month is only $132/year, drop it in the toilet and it's $600 to replace it.
