some big privacy issues here.

Quote:
Google wants to know where you go so badly that it records your movements even when you explicitly tell it not to.

An Associated Press investigation found that many Google services on Android devices and iPhones store your location data even if you’ve used a privacy setting that says it will prevent Google from doing so.

Computer-science researchers at Princeton confirmed these findings at the AP’s request.

An AP investigation found that Google saves your location history even if you’ve paused “Location History” on mobile devices. This map shows where Princeton privacy researcher Gunes Acar travelled over several days, from data saved to his Google account despite “Location History” being off.

Jeff Rossen from the Today show offers this solution:

https://www.today.com/money/google-p...mit-it-t135601

- Get on your desktop or cell phone and go to myaccount.google.com.

- Scroll down to "Personal Info and Privacy" and click on "Manage Your Google activity." Click on "Go to Activity Controls."

- Turn off "Location History" by sliding the button to the left so it's now gray.

- When it takes you to a second screen, hit "Pause," and then hit the "Pause" button again.

- Scroll up to where it says "Web & App Activity" and turn that off by sliding the button left so it's now gray.

- A second screen appears again, and again you want to hit "Pause." You're all set, and now have limited Google's ability to track you.

What kind of nonsense is this?
So Google still has some ability to track you?
That is what I understand from "Limited ability"

Unless you may have meant to write "eliminated"?

It does not matter if you turn some of the Google's tracking settings, since there are numerous entities that are owned by Google. But it's not only Google that tracks you, so why worrying about it? The most common way for all kinds of companies to track you, other than cellphones, is online. Whatever you do online, even here in this forum, is being tracked. Have you though of the reasons why certain popups appear on your screen computer?

Do you use an ATM, or even use a credit card, fuel card? How about getting a store discount by providing your phone number?
