You are incorrect. I worked for Verizon at the end of last year. They are dropping CDMA at the end of this year. Originally they set the drop date to the end of December 2019 and then pushed it back to the end of December 2020.

Time to start shopping for a VOLTE phone. Verizon sells 2 folding feature phones currently @ $99 and one @$79.99. As we get closer to the deadline, there may be additional phones at a larger discount.

CDMA will end by the end of 2020 and is a dinosaur. Verizon doesn't activate CDMA devices any longer. Current CDMA users can continue using those devices until the technology is shut down. The term for the current technology is VOLTE (Voice Over Long Term Evolution/4G) and later to be integrated with 5G systems. It is more closely related to GSM which uses a SIM card since the rollout of 3G technology and used by At&t and T-mobile. I worked for At&t for over 9 years.

Check this out from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verizon_Wireless

Read the section on that page under Network and view Radio Frequency Summary at the end of that section.

Thanks for the link.

I had a Motorola flip phone that worked on Verizon. It was great.

Now I have two low-end Samsung smartphone with Tracfone that works on Verizon network.

Tracfone on the Verizon network is the best value!

where did you get this info? 3G and 2G CDMA will go at the same time in 2025 at the least, the CDMA at the end of 2020 is a joke
