i have been aware that my texting impacts others but i dont know how. over the past few months a group of 10 friends was put together for texting since we are planning a vacation together. i have an android phone (pixel 4) and i guess they all have iphones. this text was just sent: "Guys how come we haven't talked about who has the android in this group."

so i have two questions:

1. How does my android impact how they see texts?
2. Are they not able to see that i am the one with the android?

im also surprised at the notion that in a group of 10 people i am really the only one that doesnt have an iphone? that doesnt sound right.

im gonna ignore that text either way, im not really a cell phone enthusiast. i dont like to argue iphone vs android, i dont really care.

I take it as a fun message.
No big deal. Light banter, and nothing more. Unless there would be evidence otherwise.

are.
I'm retired kinda recently. Where I worked, out of a staff of 110, maybe 5 or 10 had android. Two main reasons for android phones they could be had for cheap or the ability to highly be customized.

iPhones simply work well and are easy to figure out. What the average Joe or Jane wants in a smartphone.

No surprise

years ago, apple implemented their imessege group chat using non-standard protocols so their users were unknowingly sending embarrassing texts to blackberry/palm/android/... and even older ifone users but i think that has been long fixed.

statistically android handsets collectively are about 85 % market share; but, apple is the highest individual selling manufacturer.

Sounds like your "friends" are petty.

Texts from iphone to iphone are one color.
Texts from android to iphone are a different color.
